Ukrainian rescuers received humanitarian aid from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The transfer of humanitarian aid for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) took place recently in the Kyiv region.

State Emergency Service leaders and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Ukraine, Mr. Matsuda Kuninori, participated in the transfer ceremony.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a governmental agency that delivers the bulk of Official Development Assistance (ODA) for the government of Japan, promotes economic and social growth in developing countries and their international cooperation.

Rescuers received crane trucks, metal detectors with spare parts for them, protective equipment for sappers, etc.

All this will contribute to strengthening one of the high-demand areas today – the demining of the country.

The Head of the State Emergency Service Serhii Kruk reminded that 30% of Ukraine remains under mine danger. According to him, any assistance that accelerates the process of cleaning Ukrainian land from explosive objects is a significant contribution to this case, which will take more than a dozen years.

In his turn, Matsuda Kuninori noted that Japan will support Ukraine as much as it takes to restore normal life in a country that has suffered catastrophic consequences of a full-scale invasion by the aggressor country.

Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, Dmytro Kysylevskyi, said that the production of the special vehicle was ordered and paid for in Ukraine.

“Thus, efficiency is multiplied by three. Firstly, the State Emergency Service receives new equipment. Secondly, employees of Ukrainian industrial enterprises have jobs and salaries. Thirdly, taxes on the sale of equipment will be paid to the state budget,” he said.

Kysylevskyi added that Cherkasy Bus, Imax-Avto and Crane Ukraine, as well as dozens of their contractors, were involved in the implementation of the project.

The State Emergency Service has already received the first 6 vehicles.

Recently, two more DOK-ING MV-4 and MV-10 EOD robotic systems were handed over to Ukrainian rescuers.
