Italy has provided Ukraine with a new military assistance package.

Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, announced this on Twitter.

He also thanked his colleague and the entire Italian government for a new military aid package to defend against a Russian full-scale invasion.

According to the Minister, this package will help Ukraine “significantly increase its defense capability against Russian aggression.”

“We are very grateful to the Italian government and Minister Lorenzo Guerini for providing a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which will help significantly strengthen our defense capabilities against Russian aggression,” Reznikov wrote.

The Minister emphasized that Ukraine highly values support from Italy. At the same time, Oleksii Reznikov did not specify what kind of assistance he meant.

On October 4, the preparation of the fifth package of military aid to Ukraine by the Ministry of Defense of Italy was reported. It was speculated to include machinery and equipment.

Italy allocated the fourth package of arms to Ukraine at the end of July.

In March, the Italian parliament approved a government draft law, which assumed the provision of various assistance to Ukraine, including the supply of weapons. The contents of these packages remain encrypted.

On October 11, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi participated in the extraordinary G7 summit, where he thanked partners for their support.

He appealed to the President of France and the Prime Minister of Italy with a request to supply Ukraine with SAMP/T air defense systems.

“Mr. President of France! Mr. Prime Minister of Italy! We are very much looking forward to the delivery of SAMP/T systems. And, if possible, they will be needed in the coming months,” he said.
