The Israeli Navy has boarded several vessels of the so-called “Global Sumud Flotilla,” which was en route to the Gaza Strip.

The flotilla reported this on their social media channels.

According to their reports, Israeli forces boarded multiple ships, after which live broadcasts were abruptly cut off. The current status of the crew members remains unknown.

Before the boarding, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a video showing an unidentified Israeli Navy serviceman ordering the flotilla by phone to head to the port of Ashdod.

However, the ships ignored the demand and continued moving toward Gaza, which led to the use of force.

Israel’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Danny Danon, stated that the country will not allow “any PR stunts aimed at entering the combat zone under the pretext of a humanitarian mission.”

According to him, anyone attempting to enter Israeli territory illegally will be deported immediately after the conclusion of Yom Kippur celebrations.

He also emphasized that Israel has repeatedly offered legal channels for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, but the flotilla participants are allegedly more interested in provocations than in aid.

At the same time, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian called on Israel to guarantee the safety of the flotilla participants.

Furthermore, he urged that they be granted the right to consular protection and be allowed to return to France as soon as possible.

He also emphasized that humanitarian aid should be handed over to international organizations capable of safely delivering it to Gaza.

It is worth noting that a previous attempt by activists to reach Gaza also ended with a boarding operation and the deportation of the participants.
