An unusual aviation incident involving the Israeli Air Force occurred on the West Bank of the Jordan River.

During an air evacuation operation in the Gush Etzion area, south of Jerusalem, an Israeli helicopter broke loose from its suspension and fell to the ground. A video was posted on the Open Source Intel page on X.

It was also added that the helicopter was a UH-60 Black Hawk, which is in service with the Israeli Air Force.

A few days earlier, this helicopter made an emergency landing due to adverse weather conditions.

A CH-53 Sea Stallion heavy transport helicopter, known in the Israeli Air Force as Yasur, was called in to evacuate it.

However, during the climb, the connection between the two helicopters was severed.

As a result, the Black Hawk fell from a low altitude — a few meters above the ground.

According to available information, the servicemen were not injured, but the helicopter itself was seriously damaged.

Israeli Air Force Commander Major General Tomer Bar ordered an immediate military investigation.

The purpose of the investigation is to determine the exact causes of the accident and to evaluate the procedures used during air transport.

According to him, such incidents are considered extremely rare and have no direct analogues in the history of Israeli military aviation.

It should be noted that Israel ordered eight CH-53K King Stallion helicopters in 2023. In August 2025, Sikorsky began assembling the first CH-53K helicopter for Israel.
