The Israeli company Elbit Systems was awarded a contract to supply Airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) self-protection systems for helicopters of the German Air Force.

This is reported on the Elbit Systems’ official website.

The contract was signed at the Federal Office of the Bundeswehr for Equipment, Information Technologies, and In-Service Support. The document refers to the provision of Airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) self-protection systems for the CH-53 GS/GE transport helicopters.

The modernization and equipment of the helicopters will be conducted at the Airbus Helicopters enterprise.

Elbit Systems Deutschland subsidiary will provide digital Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), EW Controllers (EWC), and Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS).

The digital RWR and EWC are capable of rapidly detecting and accurately locating a wide range of threats.

The systems feature complete and independent threat programmability, enabling the seamless update of emitter libraries along with the flight data recording for pilot debriefing and training.

“We are proud to cooperate with Airbus Helicopters and appreciate the trust that the German Air Force places in our leading technologies that will continue to provide enhanced survivability and to increase mission effectiveness,” Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR and EW, said.

Elbit Systems Ltd. is an international high technology company engaged in a wide range of defense, homeland security, and commercial programs throughout the world.

The company actively promotes its products in Europe.

Militarnyi previously reported that in May 2023, the Netherlands ordered modern Israeli PULS multiple rocket launcher systems.

This happened as part of an agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Israel and the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.

The five-year contract covers the supply of 20 universal launchers of the PULS system, which will be integrated on a wheeled chassis selected by the Netherlands military.
