Israel will supply additional Iron Fist active defense systems for the new CV90 infantry fighting vehicles of European NATO countries.

The Israeli defense company Elbit Systems announced the signing of a new agreement with the Swedish defense company BAE Systems Hägglunds, which produces these infantry fighting vehicles.

The contract is estimated at $150 million. What is included in the agreement, apart from the systems themselves, is not disclosed.

One of the previous agreements for the supply of such defense systems was signed in August 2024, worth $130 million. It is designed for five years.

Israeli Elbit Systems emphasizes that the new contract was signed after an important milestone was reached in September 2025.

It was then that the company conducted a widely recognized demonstration of its system during live firing in Europe.

During the tests, the Iron Fist system is said to have successfully intercepted more than a dozen KE APFSDS tank advanced armor-piercing feathered sub-caliber rounds, a rare achievement for such modern systems.

Due to its small size and weight, the Iron Fist can be mounted on light armored platforms.

Equipping CV90 infantry fighting vehicles with such systems will significantly increase their capabilities on the modern battlefield.

The system provides 360-degree protection against modern anti-tank weapons, including guided missiles and grenade launchers, which are currently one of the main threats to armored vehicles.

The system includes four radar antennas to detect incoming missiles, laser irradiation sensors to notify the crew of a laser beam from an ATGM or a helicopter, and special ammunition.

In December 2025, BAE Systems Hägglunds ordered UTAAS (Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System) targeting and fire control systems from Saab for CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
