The Israeli Air Force will receive the latest training center for F-16 pilots.
The country awarded Elbit Systems a $180 million contract to develop a new Mission Training Center (MTC).
The three-year contract includes an additional 15-year operating and maintenance period for the platform.
According to the company, ten simulators will work in the future MTC.
The center will be programmed using the Elbit’s arena generator and will provide pilots with a simulation of future battlefield environments.
The center will be used together with the current Israeli training center, which will also be modernized in accordance with the contract.
After the delivery of the platform, pilots are expected to improve the quality of flight training and double the number of training sorties of F-15 and F-16 aircrews.
“Elbit Systems appreciates the strong partnership and the confidence of the IMoD and the IDF. Armed forces around the world are reshaping their training capabilities while striving to improve combat readiness and efficiency. This contract award emphasizes Elbit Systems’ leading position as a provider of advanced mission training systems,” Elbit Systems noted.
Earlier, Elbit Systems signed a contract to create a training center for Polish F-16 pilots for $36 million.
The training center is based on modeling technology that provides high-quality training and increases readiness for combat missions.
Due to the 360-degree display system, interconnected simulators provide a full-fledged training process. They also provide pilots with a real-life flight experience with no safety restrictions.
The Elbit Systems solution will provide pilots with F-16 range of skills: from basic familiarity with the aircraft to advanced skills of combat pilots.
