ISIS terrorists seized a penal colony in Surovikino, the Volgograd region of Russia.
The Russian BAZA reported on this.
The seizure of Penal Colony No. 19 (VK-19) took place during a disciplinary commission when four imprisoned terrorists pulled out knives and took hostages.
According to the BAZA, one of the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service was killed.
The terrorists also managed to take the head of Penal Colony No. 19 Andrey Devyatov hostage, who managed to escape from them with an injury. He is currently in intensive care.
The terrorists have officially requested one helicopter and a transfer of two million dollars to an unknown account. According to them, three FSIN officers are now dead.
The Russian media are spreading information about the identities of alleged terrorists, including: Khusinov Temur Gayratboevich (born in 1995), a native of Uzbekistan, sentenced to 6 years, Navruzi Rustamchon (born in 2001), a native of Uzbekistan, sentenced to 8 years, and Toshev Ramzidin Ismat-Ugly (born in 1995), a native of Uzbekistan, sentenced to 7 years.
A fourth suspect, Toshov Nazirson, is also reported, but his involvement in the hostage-taking has not been confirmed.
Penal Colony No. 19 has recently been involved in bribery-related criminal cases quite often.
In addition, it was reported that FSIN officers had also sold knives as part-time jobs. One knife cost RUB 3 thousand.
In June 2024, ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) terrorists attempted to seize a detention center in Rostov-on-Don.
Then Detention Center-1 in the Rostov region was seized by prisoners who took two FSIN (Federal Penitentiary Service) officers, the head of the operational department, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander B., and a junior inspector on duty.
