In Ukraine, an affordable unmanned mine-clearing system “Iron Caterpillar” is being developed.

This was reported by the publication “Industrial Portal”.

The product is being developed by engineers of TEMERLAND, which is a subsidiary of INFOCOM Ltd.

The platform is planned to be used as a consumable item in the demining of Ukrainian territories.

At the current stage of development, the “Iron Caterpillar” is undergoing a control test.

The engineers suggest using promising development for the military and civilian sector.

A robotic mine trawl will be able to carry out mine-clearing operations both in civilian areas in the rear and minefields directly on the battlefield.

On the basis of an unmanned platform, it is planned to create an all-terrain ground drone-kamikaze.

In addition, it is envisaged to develop larger models that will be lower than any vehicle at the front.

They will be able to transport ammunition, equipment or provisions with the help of special carts.

Militarnyi previously reported that Estonian rescuers handed over to the State Emergency Service a MV-4 robot for clearing.

It was purchased with funds from the Estonian Päästeliit Rescue Association. The cost of the machine, including additional equipment and training for sappers, amounts to 1.1 million euros.
