Intelligence officers of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed a Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine announced this on Telegram.

The Russian system was defeated in close cooperation between the DIU’s Active Operations Department and an aerial reconnaissance unit of the 45th Artillery Brigade.

After successful detection and identification, the Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system was defeated.

The Russian system was hit in the village of Novoluhanske, Donetsk region.

In addition, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine struck a logistics center where Russians stored tank equipment and ammunition.

Zhitel EW system

The Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system is designed for automated detection, direction finding, and analysis of radio emission signals in the operating frequency range.

It is stated that the system created radio interference to subscriber terminals of Inmarsat and Iridium satellite communication systems. As well as the equipment of consumers of the NAVSTAR (GPS) satellite navigation system, base stations, and cellular radio communication terminal devices.

Militarnyi previously reported that in May, the Ukrainian military discovered and destroyed an enemy R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system in the Donetsk region.

To hit the enemy electronic warfare system, the Ukrainian defenders used the American M142 HIMARS.

An accurate strike by a GMLRS rocket disabled the R-330Zh Zhitel system.

The Come Back Alive Foundation reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ Shark drone had discovered the position of the Russian invaders and adjusted the strike.
