Instructors from Ukraine completed the international instructor training program together with NATO allies in Lithuania.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
The program ended on November 18 at the School of the Armed Forces of Lithuania named after Major General Stasys Raštikis.
The instructor course lasted several weeks. It was designed for military personnel of NATO member countries and its partners.
During the training, the soldiers gained knowledge of the basics of military training, shooting and weapons, and physical training. There were also classes on military and pedagogical methods and skills necessary for independent planning and organization of classes.
Ukrainian military personnel who have completed the training program will immediately start working in the Armed Forces of Ukraine training centers.
In addition, it is emphasized that the Armed Forces of Lithuania continue supporting Ukraine both by supplying weapons and training.
“Education is taking place in Lithuania and in our allied countries. In the United Kingdom, together with our allies, our training group, consisting of the training regiment of the Great Hetman of Lithuania Janusz Radziwill, the Lithuanian Armed Forces School named after Major General Stasys Raštikis, and the General Adolfas Ramanauskas Combat Training Center and the Military Medical Service, will train thousands of Ukrainian soldiers by the end of this year and will provide basic military knowledge and skills necessary for survival and action on the battlefield,” the School of the Armed Forces of Lithuania emphasized.
They also note that the plan is to continue training the Armed Forces next year. Some of them will undergo a program delivered by the Lithuanian instructors as part of the new EU military training mission – EUMAM Ukraine.
As previously reported, the EU officially launched the EUMAM Ukraine training mission on November 15. The plan is to train 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers as part of these international exercises.
Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean, Director of the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC), will serve as the Mission Commander.
It’s planned to create several training centers for various specialties in different European countries.
