The Indian Armed Forces have launched Operation Sindoor and carried out strikes on terrorist group camps located in Pakistani territory.
Reuters reported on this.
According to Indian officials, no Pakistani military facilities were damaged during the missile attack.
It was clarified that nine Pakistani “terrorist infrastructure” facilities associated with the Kashmir tragedy were struck. Indian forces attacked the headquarters of Islamist militant groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution,” the Indian defence ministry stated.
Pakistan has officially stated that these strikes are a blatant act of aggression and that the country reserves the right to carry out missile strikes in response.
Additionally, the country’s Ministry of Defense has claimed the downing of five Indian fighter jets. However, at this stage, there have been no official confirmations from the Indian Air Force or the Ministry of Defense.
Meanwhile, anonymous sources speaking to Reuters have revealed that, overnight, three Indian Air Force fighter jets were involved in accidents in different areas of the Himalayan region. Pakistan may have highlighted these incidents as evidence of its own successes.
Among the aircraft, the Indian Air Force is believed to have lost its most advanced jet, the French-made Rafale.
Wreckage was found just 20 km from the Bathinda airbase, where the 17th Squadron, which operates these types of aircraft, is based. Photos and videos that have been published show the identification of a hanging missile, which is the French-made MICA. It is worth noting that this missile is also used by Mirage 2000-5 aircraft.
Both sides have now reported casualties among civilians. A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense stated that as a result of Indian strikes, eight people were killed, 35 were injured, and two are missing.
Militarnyi previously reported that both India and Pakistan have raised their military readiness and are deploying forces to the disputed Kashmir region.
