In the Kharkiv region, in Vovchansk, Ukrainian troops discovered and neutralized a Russian MT-LB armored personnel carrier that was behaving oddly.
Noem Intelligence Telegram channel released a video from a Ukrainian drone that recorded the movement of this MT-LB.
The Russian invaders deployed one armored personnel carrier covered with protective screens.
The armored vehicle was driving down Soborna Street (formerly Lenin Street) and did not stop even when it was hit.
The Ukrainian military managed to stop the MT-LB only on the outskirts of the bridge that connects the two parts of the city across the Vovcha River.
It is possible that the Russian invaders were trying to send an unmanned MT-LB to Ukrainian positions, which was packed with explosives.
This is not the first time that the Russian military has used unmanned armoured vehicles packed with explosives in the war.
Previously, the invaders placed OFAB-100-120 bombs and a mine-clearing line charge from an UR-77 mine clearing vehicle in the MT-LB to use it to explode on Ukrainian positions.
It is also believed that the MT-LB could have been heading to the aggregate plant, but the armoured personnel carrier’s driver was seriously injured and lost control of the vehicle.
Vitalii Sarantsev, spokesperson for the Kharkiv operational tactical group of troops, recently reported that as of September 17, Russian invaders were still at the Aggregate Plant in Vovchansk.
‘The day before yesterday, they tried to shell the city’s districts, locations adjacent to the aggregate plant. But they hit their own people. Currently, there are ongoing clashes there,’ Vitalii Sarantsev reported.
The Russian invaders have controlled the Aggregate Plant itself since the beginning of the Russian breakthrough across the border in May 2024.
