The “Come Back Alive” Foundation and PrivatBank raised funds to provide army aviation brigades with refractory uniforms and flight helmets.
The Foundation shared that in just over a month, the bank’s customers and those willing to donate raised over UAH 31 million.
This money should meet the needs of the crews of the Ukrainian army aviation in special equipment.
In the near future, the Fund will acquire and transfer refractory uniforms and helmets to pilots.
“Burns are one of the most common injuries and causes of mortality among helicopter crews who have suffered enemy strike,” said “Come Back Alive” Foundation.
The fundraising campaign in support of military aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was launched at the end of January.
The equipment includes aviation helmets, refractory jackets, pants, balaclavas, and gloves, which could basically save the lives of pilots.
The Charitable Foundation will purchase the equipment in the United States.
In October last year, the aviation brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received pickups and drones from the “Come Back Alive” Foundation.
Militarnyi also recently reported that Croatia was completing the preparation of Мi-8 helicopters to be transferred to Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, Army Aviation has been performing important and highly risky tasks.
Also, since 2014, helicopters have been involved in evacuating wounded soldiers, bringing provisions, medical equipment, water and ammunition to the most difficult areas of the front, as well as providing fire support to Ukrainian forces from the sky.
