As many as 918 settlements in Ukraine were liberated from the Russian invaders. The humanitarian offices are now working in 338 of these liberated areas.

In his video address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had announced the restoration of control over the liberated districts.

“Normal life is now being resumed in the regions and districts that have been liberated from the invaders. The amount of work underway is extremely huge. As many as 918 populated areas of various sizes, but equally important for us, for Ukraine, have already been de-occupied… Humanitarian offices have started working in 338 of these liberated areas… We are resuming the provision of regular and emergency medical care, the work of educational institutions – where it is actually possible,” Zelensky said.

The President also added that 1,018 educational institutions across Ukraine were destroyed or damaged by the Russian troops.

The demining operations are currently ongoing, and electricity, water, and gas supply are being restored. The work of the police, post office, state, and local authorities is also being brought back to action.

Also, the reconstruction of roads and railways is being conducted.

“In particular, the railway connections with Chernihiv and Nizhyn will be restored tomorrow [April 16]. Trains between the cities are already running in the Sumy region. The teams of Ukravtodor (Ukrainian Road Authority – ed.) and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railway Authority – ed.) are working quite efficiently, and I am grateful to them for such a pace. For giving people back a sense of normal life, which the invaders tried to destroy forever,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the President of Ukraine.

Previously, it was reported that Russia was planning to capture Ukraine under the premise of strategic military trainings.
