Ukrainian forces neutralized the artillery positions of the Russian invasion forces in the south.
Tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the enemy.
Tankers conducted indirect fire.
A Russian artillery unit armed with 152-mm Msta-B towed howitzers was aimed.
The grouping of troops “Kakhovka” neutralized enemy artillery and released a video featuring their combat work at the front.
“Tank units of the grouping of troops “Kakhovka” conducted indirect fire at enemy howitzers,” the statement says.
The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Russian invaders suffered significant losses in military equipment and artillery.
It should be noted that it is traditional for tanks to fire directly or semi-directly at targets that the gunner of the combat vehicle observes through the sighting devices. This is how enemy targets are usually hit at a maximum distance of 4-5 kilometers from the tank.
Moreover, the tank has the ability to hit targets at long distances that are not visually observable. This method of firing is called “indirect fire”.
For this method of firing tanks use high-explosive shells with a flight range of more than 10 km. To aim at such long ranges, special aiming devices such as an azimuth pointer and a side level are usually used.
The damaged Russian 2А65 Msta-B towed howitzer is designed to destroy artillery and mortar batteries, tanks, and other armored vehicles.
They are also used for the destruction of field fortifications and other defense structures, suppression manpower and firepower, control points, air and missile defenses.
