Soldiers of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shot down a Russian-made drone.
Militarnyi reports about this with reference to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
An unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the South of Ukraine.
Soldiers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade worked on the Russian reconnaissance drone.
“The Mykolaiv paratroopers cut off wings of the Russian bird through accurate fire from the small arms,” said the Command of the Air-Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recently, in the Luhansk region, the Ukrainian servicemen have also “landed” a Russian Orlan-10 drone.
A few days ago, soldiers of the 24th Brigade have successfully “landed” a Russian Orlan-30 drone.
Orlan-10 is a Russian medium-range, multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle. The Orlan-10 system consists of a base station and several UAVs.
It is designed to monitor the lengthy and local facilities in hard-to-reach areas and was manufactured by Special Technology Center LLC.
The UAV is part of a multi-purpose system, which in addition to the aircraft itself includes the workplaces of the operators and the equipment for radio control and data transmission channels.
Also, the system includes the equipment for maintenance and launch of the UAVs and a 1 kW gasoline generator to ensure autonomous operation.
The Orlan-10 UAV control point has the ability to control no more than four unmanned aerial vehicles from one control point.
