In the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched a successful counteroffensive operation.

Yesterday, on April 17th, in the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian soldiers have launched a successful counteroffensive operation and liberated the settlements of Bazaliyivka, Lebyazhe, part of Kutuzivka, and are advancing east, said Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Regional Military Administration.
“Our defenders in the Kharkiv region are conducting several successful operations, pushing the invaders further back and away from the regional center [the city of Kharkiv]. Bazaliyivka, Lebyazhe, and part of Kutuzivka were liberated in a counteroffensive operation conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our units have advanced further east near the village of Mala Rohan,” he wrote.

In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian Defense Forces are being reinforced with the trophy equipment seized from the Russian military.
In particular, in the Barvinkove direction, the defenders had seized a trophy tank.
Ukrainian soldiers have demonstrated to the Sky News journalists a trophy T-72B (mod. 1989), which was not previously in service with Ukraine.
T-72B (mod. 1989) is an upgraded version of the T-72B tank with a built-in “Kontact-5” ERA, as well as a modified composition of the upper frontal part.
It was previously reported that according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after the creation of the strike group and the formation of reserves, the enemy would be trying to resume the offensive in the direction of Barvinkove and Slovyansk.
