Russian media report the work of air defense in the area of the military airbase in the city of Engels, Saratov region.

It is reported that they were trying to shoot down an unknown object near the Engels military airbase.

Roman Busargin, Governor of the Saratov region, reported the air defense system working on the territory of the Engels district.

“The air defense system was activated on the territory of the Engels district. An unknown object was destroyed. Operational services were deployed to the scene,” he wrote.

He also assured that there is no danger to the locals.

“Once again, information about the need to evacuate Engels is being spread. I ask everyone to keep calm,” Busargin wrote.

In Belgorod and the Belgorod district, air defense was also activated. The authorities of the region declare that no victims or injuries were reported.

However, one of the fragments of an unknown weapon landed at the junction of the Komsomolskyi-Mayskyi highway. Dry grass caught fire on the spot.

It is claimed that the firefighters have already extinguished everything.

As previously reported, on December 26, the airbase in Engels in the Saratov region, where the military airbase of the Russian strategic bomber jets is located, was attacked by unknown drones for the second time in a month.

Three Russian servicemen who were at the military airbase at the time were killed. Their names were released the day before.

According to the open data, Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic bomber jets are stationed at this air base.

The Russian media also reported that the S-300 missile launcher was destroyed in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
