The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine released a photo capturing fortifications along the coastline in the Saky district of temporarily occupied Crimea.
The press service of the Defence Intelligence reported this.
It is noted that a network of mine barriers, defensive fighting positions and trenches is being set up near the village of Molochne.
Additionally, rows of concrete pyramids, the so-called “dragon’s teeth”, are being installed to stop the advance of heavy machinery.
“The Russians in occupied Crimea are trying to additionally strengthen the coastline, fearing the landing of the Ukrainian paratroopers,” added the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Information about the strengthening of engineering barriers on the territory of Crimea was also confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The expansion of the system of engineering barriers and the installation of fortifications, also with the involvement of civilian campaigns, is ongoing on the territory of the Crimean peninsula,” Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff, stated at the briefing.
He also noted that the enemy is strengthening the defense of airfields located in Crimea.
“At the airbase on Belbek, Hvardiiske, and Saky, EW means have been deployed to counter cruise missiles and attack drones,” Oleksii Hromov said.
He also emphasized that the Russian military has increased the intensity of anti-sabotage overflights of the sea coast by reconnaissance planes and naval aviation. Anti-sabotage measures were also strengthened in the bays of occupied Sevastopol.
At the beginning of December, the General Staff reported that Russia maintains significant reserves in the north of occupied Crimea to strengthen its groups fighting in Ukraine.
The city of Dzhankoi and the surrounding areas have basically turned into a military base. According to intelligence, approximately 50 units of weapons and military equipment are stationed in the field park in the Medvedivka settlement of the Dzhankoi district.
A logistics center of Russian troops has been also established near Dzhankoi, where a repair base has been created to restore damaged equipment.
In addition, released satellite images feature that the airport in the city of Dzhankoi has turned into a logistics hub for Russian aviation.
