In Belarus, there is the opening of the preserved storage machinery that can then be handed over to Russian invasion forces to take part in hostilities in eastern Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about this.
Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, the deputy head of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated about this at a briefing.
“It is possible that they will provide this equipment to the forces in the Donetsk direction. In addition, military infrastructure is currently being built at Zyabrivka Airport, which gives grounds to believe that this territory may become a location for Russian equipment and troops,” he said.
Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov also said that in the Kharkiv direction, enemy units are focusing their efforts on preventing the Defense Forces from entering the rear of a group of occupying forces operating in the Sloviansk direction. The enemy conducted air reconnaissance in the areas of Bayrak and Rubizhne.
The head of the Main Operations Department noted that in the Sloviansk direction, the aggressor’s group is focusing on improving the tactical situation and identifying weak spots in the defense of our troops.
The enemy is trying to create conditions for the resuming the offensive in the directions of Izium – Barvinkove and Izium – Sloviansk.
“In order to strengthen the grouping of troops in the area of the city of Izium, the enemy has relocated two tank units. The invaders plan to use heavy flamethrower systems in the Sloviansk direction,” Oleksii Hromov said.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on establishing full control over the city of Sievierodonetsk.
It became known in late May that infantry tanks and combat vehicles were being removed from storage facilities in Belarus. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine assumed that Belarusian armored vehicles could be handed over to the Russian military.
On June 22, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus launched the military mobilization exercises in the Gomel region on the border with Ukraine. They will last until July 1.
As of June 21, there were up to seven Belarusian military battalions on the Belarusian border with Ukraine. Russian troops are also stationed in the country, but their number is unknown.
