The agreement was concluded in 2020 for 218 units, the contract amount exceeded €2 billion.
The agreements provide for the localization of Lynx production in Hungary, for which Rheinmetall is building a plant in the city of Zalaegerszeg.
At the first stage of production, the Armed Forces of Hungary will receive 46 KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles and 9 Buffalo armoured recovery vehicles, assembled in Germany. Another 172 vehicles will be assembled in the second stage of production at the new Rheinmetall Hungary Zrt in Hungary.
