Odesa rescuers received four all-terrain fire trucks from a foreign charitable foundation.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated that the equipment was donated by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.
The vehicles will be distributed to fire departments in the Odesa region as soon as possible.
“We really need this kind of equipment to respond to fires and emergencies quickly and efficiently,” the rescuers say.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, partners have provided 36 fire trucks to Odesa garrisons.
Ten all-terrain pickup trucks and five pneumatic frame tents with an autonomous heating and air conditioning system were also delivered.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Buffett family has been actively supporting Ukraine with humanitarian aid.
Howard Buffett, the son of the fifth-richest man in the world, investor Warren Buffett, has visited many places where armed conflicts are taking place as part of his charitable foundation.
But no region impressed him more than Ukraine.
“I have seen conflict in Sudan, Burundi, Congo and other countries. It is cruel. But in Ukraine, it is a deliberate attempt to destroy the country. The losses Ukraine will suffer will have an impact on the whole world,” he said in an interview.
The Howard Buffett Foundation has spent more than $500 million to help Ukraine since February 2022. Since then, the philanthropist has visited Ukraine many times.
As previously reported, in 2023, the Howard Buffett Foundation donated mine-clearing equipment and working dogs to Ukrainian rescuers.
