The HIMARS rocket launchers of the Ukrainian army attacked the Russian infantry on the island of Dzharylhach in the Kherson region.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that dozens of invaders and enemy equipment were eliminated.

The National Resistance Center published a video in which it is clearly seen that Russian troops are trying to equip their positions on the island.

The Center for National Resistance noted that, due to the information provided by Ukrainians, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are destroying the occupiers “with filigree accuracy”.

The video shows the lining up of five Russian infantry units on the island.

Ukrainian defenders attacked each of the groups of invaders with HIMARS rockets.

The invaders tried to hide in bushes and training trenches, but a rocket hit them.

The distance from Dzharylhach to the nearest territories controlled by Ukraine is 70 km. From the spit of the island – about 60 km.

It’s worth noting that Dzharylhach Island is the largest island in Ukraine. It is located in Karkinit Bay in the Black Sea.

Administratively, Dzharylhach belongs to the Skadovsk district of the Kherson region. The entire territory of the island and part of the adjacent water area are included in the Dzharylhach National Natural Park.

In May 2023, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the invaders connected the island of Dzharylhach with the occupied mainland of the Kherson region near the settlement of Lazurne, filling the crossing to the island with sand.

Russian troops did this to make more intensive use of the national park`s territory for military needs. In particular, a military training ground was equipped on the island.
