The Ukrainian Novator armored vehicle manufactured by Ukrainian Armor is at least 20% cheaper than foreign counterparts.
This was announced by the company’s CEO Vladislav Belbas in an interview with Militarnyi.
“Novator costs about 13 million hryvnia (about $300,000),” Belbas said.
He explained that the final price of the armored vehicle depends primarily on the availability of a combat module, machine gun turret, and other additional equipment.
Belbas also added that their new development, the Varta-2 armored vehicle, is 35% cheaper than foreign vehicles with STANAG 4569 Level 3 armor. This standard provides protection against bullets, including 14.5 mm caliber bullets, and shrapnel, and can withstand a 10 kg explosive charge under the bottom.
For comparison, the Novator has STANAG 4569 Level 2 protection. It can withstand 7.62 mm caliber bullets and an explosion of up to 6 kg of explosives under the wheel.
In addition, it has been reported that the Novator is 30-40% cheaper than the Varta 2.
