Germany has transferred a significant package of military aid to Ukraine, including artillery, air defense systems, armored vehicles, etc.

The German government announced this on Wednesday, November 20.

Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive four Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers and seven barrels for the American-made M109 self-propelled artillery system.

The list of military aid also includes:

  • ammunition for MARDER infantry fighting vehicles;
  • 73 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAP);
  • 1 TRML-4D air surveillance radar;
  • 41000 rounds 155mm ammunition;
  • 20 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts;
  • 12 HORNET XR reconnaissance drones;
  • 100 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones;
  • 120 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones;
  • 60 Golden Eagle reconnaissance drones;
  • 2 VT-4 Rochen reconnaissance drones;
  • 2 BIBER bridge-laying tanks with spare parts;
  • 3 WISENT 1 mine clearing tanks with spare parts and three mine plows;
  • 8 Caracal air assault vehicles;
  • 20 border protection vehicles;
  • 6 M1070 Oshkosh tank transporter tractors;
  • 8000 rounds 40 mm ammunition;
  • 340 HLR 338 precision rifles with 314000 rounds of ammunition;
  • 100000 rounds of ammunition for firearms;
  • tens of thousands of medical supplies.

The transfer of a modern TRML-4D radar station is worth noting.

The radar uses the latest digital radar technology. It is capable of detecting, tracking, and classifying various types of air targets.

The radar is capable of operating independently, detecting air targets in the interests of air defense or as part of air defense systems, including the German IRIS-T, which is in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The system is capable of detecting various air targets, including cruise missiles, as well as planes and helicopters maneuvering or flying at low altitudes. The radar can quickly detect and track about 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 km.

Caracal air assault vehicles were also used to help.

Caracal is an air assault vehicle based on the civilian Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.

The vehicle was originally adapted for airborne units, so it can be transported both in internal cargo compartments and on external suspensions of CH-47F Chinook and CH-53K King Stallion helicopters.

The Ukrainian military will also eventually receive 4,000 artificial intelligence-controlled attack drones from Germany.
