Germany handed over a new batch of the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is reported by the German government. The official website updated the list of military support provided for Ukraine.

This time, the Armed Forces received four more Gepard units and 65 refrigeration units for medicines.

In total, Berlin transferred 24 Gepard SPAAGs to Kyiv.

It was reported on September 6 that the Ukrainian military received four self-propelled anti-aircraft guns from Germany, along with the COBRA counter-battery radar.

In total, Ukraine should be receiving 30 Gepard units from the German army reserves, thus another six vehicles are to be expected.

The first anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery systems arrived in Ukraine in July this year.

And over the past month, the military received approximately 49 thousand shells for these anti-aircraft installations.

These artillery systems are striking targets at a distance between 100 meters and 4 km. Their crew consists of only three people: driver, commander, and gunner.

The systems will protect the important infrastructure against helicopter and aircraft attacks from low and ultra-low altitudes.

This anti-aircraft system had for a long time been a very important element of the air defense of the armies of Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. However, in the 2000s, the militaries of these countries stopped using them. At the same time, this system still remains in service with some other states.

The system is based on the Leopard 1 tank chassis. Two 35mm Oerlikon KDA guns and two radars determining the target at a distance of up to 15 km are installed on the turret, which is capable of making a full turn.
