Germany has reinforced the Moldovan Border Police with Ukrainian-made FurSeal 485 boats.
The Moldovan police said that they had received 38 off-road vehicles to patrol the border with the boats.
The border police received a new batch of equipment from Germany as part of a charity project.
The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, Ambassador of Germany to the Republic of Moldova, Margrethe Maria Webber and Chief of the Border Police Ruslan Halushka.
Officials emphasized how important this equipment was to Moldova’s national security.
Minister Adrian Efros noted that the new vehicles would significantly increase the efficiency of police units, especially on critical sections of the state border.
The donated 38 Dacia Duster SUVs and 5 boats will be distributed among the Border Police units where they will contribute to the work on critical sections of the state border.
These boats are manufactured by the Ukrainian company FurSeal, which specializes in the production of aluminum boats.
FurSeal 485 boats are sold in Moldova by the Boats Expert distributor for €16,000.
The FurSeal 485 is equipped with an aerator, two consoles and is designed for four passengers. The boats were completed for the Moldovan police.
The basic configuration has a welded aluminum-magnesium alloy body.
In July, it was reported that the Moldovan National Army would receive 20 HMMWVs from the United States.
