Ukrainian rescuers received special machinery and equipment from Germany and Estonia.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine received 28 units of special equipment from Germany.
The equipment is designed for effective performance of duties by rescuers of Ukraine as assigned.
The equipment was transferred at the initiative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine.
Ukrainian rescuers received special equipment from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW).
In particular, the equipment for the Ukrainian rescuers included hoists, manipulator cranes, vehicles with refueling stations, dump trucks, tankers, and trucks with generators.
The rescuers demonstrated to the representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany two training locations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. On these training grounds, they showed how the fire and rescue crews worked out the elements of fire extinguishing operations using the COBRA type fire extinguishing system and the MAGIRUS WOLF R1 system.
The rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia also sent to Ukraine technical means for demining ammunition.
Three mini-excavators with trailers, four remote demining machines, and one chemical substance detector were sent to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded the equipment purchase, which cost €337,216.
Estonian experts, who also visited Ukraine, trained Ukrainians to use this equipment.
According to Lauri Läänemets, the Interior Minister, who also visited Ukraine in mid-December, aid in demining helps both to prevent human casualties and to restart Ukraine’s economy.
