The Second District Court of Munich has sentenced a 58-year-old Russian citizen to life in prison for the murder of two Ukrainian soldiers.
This was reported by the BBC.
The tragedy occurred in the city of Murnau (Germany), where the Ukrainian soldiers were undergoing rehabilitation.
The victims were 36-year-old and 23-year-old Ukrainians. The convict confessed to the crime at the beginning of the trial in February 2025.
According to the newspaper, the two victims knew the killer, and that day they met together and drank alcohol when a dispute broke out between them.
After that, the Russian got up from the table, picked up a knife and stabbed the 36-year-old soldier several times in the neck, and stabbed the 23-year-old five times.
According to the Upper Bavarian police, the tragedy occurred near a shopping center.
At first, the criminal fled the scene, but then the police managed to detain him. The man lived not far from the crime scene.
According to the BBC, one of the deceased served in the 122nd Airmobile Battalion of the 81st Separate Airborne Slobozhanska Brigade of the Airborne Forces.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police had detained Russian FSB agents who had been preparing to blow up buildings of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in the Kyiv region.
According to the investigation, the main targets were the base points of local police units, the TCR and the prosecutor’s office. The Russian agents had the right to choose the first object to blow up among them.
It is reported that the Russians had remotely recruited two unemployed people from the Kyiv region, a 27-year-old drug addict and his partner, who had been looking for easy money to carry out the attacks.
