The Ukrainian Defense Forces have withdrawn from the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region to take up more favorable positions near Ukraine’s eastern border.

This became known from official reports of the General Staff.

According to the official map of the operation in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian defense forces have withdrawn from the town of Sudzha and taken up more favorable positions along the state border of Ukraine.

At the same time, the enemy continues to try to capture the positions of the defenders. Thus, according to official information, on March 14, there were 20 clashes with Russian troops.

The enemy carried out 232 artillery attacks and 3 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. At the same time, Russian aviation dropped 28 adjusted aircraft bombs.

In addition, in his address on March 15, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted that the Kursk operation had been successful.

Thanks to it, the enemy has pulled significant forces into the area, which has eased pressure on units in other areas.

Separately, the President noted that the defense had successfully withstood constant assaults by Russian and North Korean troops.

Deterring the enemy on the eastern part of Ukraine’s border in the Sumy region is very important, as the enemy is amassing significant forces there and attempting to bring subversive reconnaissance groups into Ukraine.

“The accumulation of Russian forces indicates that Moscow intends to ignore diplomacy in the future. Russia’s prolongation of the war is obvious,” the president wrote on his official Telegram page.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that in the Kursk region, the Russians had made an unsuccessful attempt to cross the Psel River and had drowned an armored personnel carrier.

The settlement of Guevo remains under the full control of the Ukrainian military. However, according to Deepstate, part of Kurilovka has already been abandoned by the Ukrainians.

Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are managing to restrain the Russian advance in the Kursk region using drones, artillery, and mining.

On March 12, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Russians were trying to move the fighting to the territory of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. According to him, since the beginning of the Kursk operation, the total losses of the Russian troops have amounted to more than 54,900 people (irretrievable, sanitary and prisoners). And as a result of Russian air strikes on the town of Sudzha, this settlement was almost completely destroyed.
