The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi informed the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley about the current operational situation at the frontline.
This was announced in Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s Facebook post.
Zaluzhnyi stressed that the enemy concentrated their main efforts in the north of the Luhansk Region. They massively use artillery and, unfortunately, “have a ten-fold firepower advantage,” says General Zaluzhnyi.
“As of today, the frontline stretches for 2,450 km, and 1,105 km of those are an area of active combat,” Zaluzhnyi wrote.
He added that in some directions the Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched counter-offensives.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the situation is difficult, in particular, in the city of Sievierodonetsk.
“The invaders have deployed up to 7 battalion-tactical groups there. Despite the constant fire, we’ve managed to stop the enemy,” said Zaluzhnyi.
Failing in the Luhansk direction, the Russians resumed shelling of Kharkiv residential areas. It requires an adequate response from Ukraine.
According to Zaluzhnyi, the Russian military continues to shell detachments of our defense forces with artillery and mortars in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
He called on the United States to provide Ukraine with more artillery weapons.
“I once again repeated our request to help us get more artillery systems of 155 mm caliber as soon as possible,” said the General.
