The Ukrainian self-propelled artillery system 2S22 Bohdana has been added to the arsenal of the 27th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Otaman Petro Kalnyshevskyi.
The press service of the unit released the corresponding video.
The footage shows that the brigade received a modernized version of the Bohdana based on a Tatra chassis with an armored cabin from the Ukrainian Armor Company.
Until 2025, the unit had the status of a rocket artillery brigade and was armed with four divisions of Soviet 220-mm BM-27 Uragan multiple launch rocket systems, as well as American M142 HIMARS systems.
It is unknown whether HIMARS remain in service at this time.
The transition to Bohdana is likely related to the decommissioning of the Uragans due to a lack of ammunition and the end of their service life.
To maintain and strengthen their combat capabilities, the brigade’s personnel underwent training on the new system, which is currently the most widespread self-propelled artillery system in Europe.
At the end of July, it became known that the artillery division of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade had received reinforcements in the form of long-range 155 mm Bohdana-BG guns manufactured in Ukraine.
