France has provided over EUR 108 million in military equipment to Ukraine and has the intentions to continue.

Florence Parley, Minister of Defense, has announced the transfer of weapons after a conversation with her Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov, European Pravda reports.

“I announced to my [Ukrainian] counterpart that France will be providing additional military capacities, in addition to the EUR 100 million of equipment transfers that were already made,” Parly stated in her tweet.

It should be noted that until now France was not announcing the value of support provided to Ukraine.

This regards “means of protection, optical and electronic equipment, weapons and ammunition, weapons systems in accordance with the needs voiced by the Ukrainian side,” reads the statement the French Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that this amount would not be included in the funds allocated by the European Union from the European Peacekeeping Fund.

Currently, the total amount of funds allocated for Ukraine has reached EUR 1.5 billion.

“As the conflict continues, France together with its partners is preparing to provide Ukraine with long-term military support, backed by the mobilization of our defense industries. This involves collectively bringing in the equipment tailored to Ukrainian needs, and coordinating this aid with our allies and partners… France is determined to help Ukraine resist this aggression and create the conditions for a just and lasting peace,” said the Defense Ministry in her statement.

Previously, the Government of Canada has announced a $500 million military aid to Ukraine. This regards military equipment and Senator armored vehicles.
