The French government handed over six firefighting vehicles and seven ambulances to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
This was stated by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
This is the third batch of equipment transferred to Ukraine from France.
The transfer of equipment took place at the Kyiv 25th Fire and Rescue Unit with the participation of Catherine Colonna, French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Denys Monastyrsky, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Etienne de Ponsin, French Ambassador to Ukraine, and Serhiy Kruk, Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that first aid vehicles, fire trucks, and special emergency equipment will be dispatched to execute urgent assignments to eliminate the consequences of the Russian invaders’ actions.
In particular, the equipment will be used to dismantle blockages in the residential buildings, extinguish fires, rescue and evacuate people, and ensure the execution of other jobs.
According to Denys Monastyrsky, Minister of Internal Affairs, as of now Ukraine records approximately a thousand units of lost equipment and over 1,200 destroyed buildings of the SES, National Police, National Guard, and other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Every convoy we send is an expression of solidarity and friendship between the French and Ukrainian peoples. 1,300 territorial communities organized the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid. We will keep aiding your country in this difficult time,” Catherine Colonna said.
The previous batch of the firefighting equipment from France arrived in Ukraine on April 22.
Ukrainian rescuers received 24 rescue vehicles and 54 tonnes of equipment.
Prior to that, on March 28 – 27, France had handed over the special equipment to Ukraine that included trucks and 50 tons of equipment.
As previously reported, France will be providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a new batch of 155-mm Caesar self-propelled howitzers. This was announced yesterday, May 30, by Catherine Colonna, Head of the French Foreign Ministry.
