Eighteen Ukrainian developers, including teams working on a tactical ballistic missile and a drone-interceptor missile, have submitted their projects to the Brave1 grant competitions.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, announced this.
He noted that 18 of the submitted proposals focus on developing anti-aircraft missile systems to counter drones, while another four are dedicated to developing tactical ballistic missiles.
Such solutions address two key needs of the military: an affordable means of intercepting drones and an effective ballistic strike capability.
The Brave1 grant competitions create an opportunity to attract substantial funding for complex, high-tech, research-intensive projects.
Teams that can create products that meet the specified technical requirements will receive support.
A few months ago, it was announced that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed officials to accelerate the development of a Ukrainian ballistic missile as much as possible.
In April 2025, Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin stated that existing production capacities have already made it possible to establish the regular use of a domestic ballistic missile and the “long-range Neptune.”
