The Ukrainian military used Flamingo missiles to destroy ammunition at an arsenal in the Volgograd region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the use of these missiles.
“The strike on the arsenal was carried out using Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo long-range missiles,” the statement reads.
The missiles hit the warehouse of military unit 57229/51, located near the village of Kotluban.
This arsenal is one of the largest ammunition storage sites of the Russian army.
“Powerful explosions were recorded on the territory of the facility, followed by secondary detonations,” the General Staff reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also confirmed Ukraine’s use of Flamingo missiles.
Despite the missiles hitting their targets and the ammunition detonating, Russia claimed to have destroyed five Flamingo missiles.
This is the warehouse of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The first public announcement of the destruction of a Russian target by new Ukrainian cruise missiles was made at the end of August 2025.
According to available information, the penetrating warhead of the Flamingo missile weighs 1,150 kg.
At the same time, the developer is working on creating missiles with other warhead options.
The missile’s declared flight range exceeds 3,000 km.
The missile is protected against Russian electronic warfare systems, has a maximum speed of 950 km/h, and is made of composite materials.
These missiles were also used to strike the Kapustin Yar test site, from which Oreshnik missiles are launched at Ukraine.
