Ukrainian company FirePoint has released specifications and videos of test and combat launches of its new Flamingo cruise missile.

Zn.ua, which received the material exclusively from the developer, shared the details.

According to the newspaper’s article, “during development, the manufacturer focused on three key aspects of the domestic cruise missile: range, warhead size, and rapid deployment and launch.”

The missile became publicly known on August 17, when AP photo correspondent Yefrem Lukatsky posted photos of it on his Facebook page.

FirePoint reportedly said the Flamingo has a warhead weighing 1,150 kilograms and a range exceeding 3,000 kilometers. The missile is also said to be resistant to Russian electronic warfare.

In comments to the Ukrinform news agency, a company representative added that the missile’s maximum speed is 950 kilometers per hour and that Flamingo missiles are roughly five times cheaper than Tomahawks. The representative also added the missiles are deployed only 20-40 minutes before launch.

Video footage shows the missile uses a small solid-fuel booster to gain the speed and altitude needed for the jet engine to take over. Launches are carried out from a compact mobile launcher.

ZN.UA noted that this capability allows Ukrainian forces to strike targets previously beyond the reach of their long-range strike systems, including long-range drones.

The newspaper also reported that Flamingo missiles have been used against targets inside Russia for some time, demonstrating effectiveness in hitting designated targets.

FirePoint, which also produces FP-1 long-range drones, is scaling up production. FP-1 drones have been used against Russian targets since at least 2024. In April, wreckage of a downed drone was found in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.

The FP-1 can carry a warhead of up to 120 kilograms over distances of up to 1,600 kilometers. The warhead size affects range: drones flying maximum distance must carry smaller warheads.
