The first CV90 MkIV infantry fighting vehicles intended for the Slovak Armed Forces have rolled off the production line and are currently undergoing testing in Sweden.
This was reported by Future Army with reference to BAE Systems Hägglunds.
The tests include verification of the Slovak configuration of the control, communication, and command system, developed in cooperation with local industry.
Slovakia ordered 152 CV90 vehicles as part of an intergovernmental agreement with Sweden.
More than 30 Slovak companies are involved in the production, accounting for over 40% of the contract value.
Slovak partners are also working on future upgrades to the platform. In particular, Koval Systems is developing an automatic loading system for the 120 mm gun on the CV90120.
The new CV9035 MkIV version features a 35 mm cannon, improved ballistic and mine protection, the Iron Fist active protection system, and a flexible architecture that allows for the integration of modern sensors and weapons according to user requirements.
