One of the prototypes will be used in endurance tests, and another one in flight tests.
The aircraft intended for flight tests, will soon begin ground tests and preparations for the first flight, which is scheduled for March 18, 2023.
The production of prototypes of the domestic HÜRJET training aircraft in Turkey was reported in early 2022. At the same time, the process of creating software for the on-board system of the training aircraft has begun, which will be used to train military pilots.
The production of parts for prototypes, each consisting of about 8 thousand parts, according to Turkish media, began in January 2021. New training aircraft are to replace T-38 and F-5 aircraft.
The Turkish Air Force also plans to receive HÜRJET in the variant of a light attack aircraft, such a version will receive the HÜRJET-C designation.
The decision to create a Turkish training and combat training aircraft under the HÜRJET designation under the auspices of TAI was made by the Turkish government in November 2017.
After trials and development work, it is assumed that HÜRJET will be able to enter service by 2025.
The purpose of this project is to establish serial production of aircraft of two units per month. In the first stage, 16 HÜRJET aircraft will enter service with the Turkish Air Force.
