Ukrainian company Fire Point plans to start producing solid rocket fuel at its own facility in Denmark in 2026.

Iryna Terekh, the company’s CEO and CTO, shared the update in an interview with Defender Media.

She said that construction of the plant is currently underway, while the company is also securing all required permits, including environmental and waste management approvals.

“It has proven somewhat more complex than doing this in Ukraine, but not as difficult as I had expected. The European system also faces a challenge in adapting to the wartime pace we are used to in Ukraine,” she noted.

The first phase of the plant is scheduled to open in 2026, with the main phase likely to follow in 2027. The facility will produce rocket fuel, engine casings, and connecting components, as well as assemble rocket engines.

In September 2025, the Danish government decided to temporarily suspend more than 20 laws and regulations to accelerate the construction of a Ukrainian defense plant by Fire Point.

The decision grants the government broad powers to temporarily ease rules in areas such as spatial planning, construction, energy, forestry, environmental protection, water resource management, and pollution control.

Such exemptions are introduced for projects deemed critical to national defense or implemented under emergency conditions.

Fire Point has been granted permission not to comply with an executive order governing the control of major accident risks involving hazardous substances.

In addition, Denmark’s defense authorities are considering the use of this fuel for new PULS rocket systems purchased from the Israeli company Elbit. This could open the door to localized munition production.

Solid fuel is required for the production of booster stages for Flamingo cruise missiles, as well as for solid-propellant engines used in the FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles.

Fire Point has already launched flight tests of its new operational-tactical ballistic missile, the FP-7. The first launch took place in late February 2026, followed by a second on March 14. Tests of the FP-9 are planned for early summer 2026.
