The Ukrainian company Fire Point has expanded its FP-1 drone family by developing new versions that can carry other drones and use anti-aircraft weapons.
CEO and CTO Iryna Terekh announced this in an interview with Defender Media at the Arsenal of Talents exhibition.
She explained that the company is not creating a separate line of interceptor drones. Instead, it is adapting the existing FP-1 platform for these roles.
For example, engineers have developed a version of the FP-1 kamikaze drone that can carry FPV interceptor drones. In addition, these drones can be equipped with machine guns and other anti-aircraft weapons.
In the future, such platforms may also be fitted with missile systems.
In theory, man-portable air defense missile systems (MANPADS) can be integrated onto these platforms.
The FP-1 is a Ukrainian long-range strike unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Fire Point.
It is designed to hit strategic targets deep inside enemy territory at distances of up to 1,600 kilometers and can carry a warhead weighing up to 113 kilograms.
The drone was first publicly presented at a defense exhibition in Kyiv in May 2025, although it had already been used in combat operations by that time.
The FP-1 production technology is optimized for large-scale serial manufacturing of one-way attack drones. The use of plywood structural elements and relatively simple assembly techniques allows for fast and low-cost production.
The FP-1 is equipped with a two-cylinder engine and has a wingspan of about 2.5 meters. Other exact dimensions of the drone remain undisclosed.
There is also an operational-tactical version, the FP-2, which has a range of around 200 kilometers and can carry a warhead of up to 105 kilograms.
