Finland is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine aimed at protecting critical infrastructure in the fall and winter.
Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, reported this on his social media pages.
Finland’s assistance reportedly targets strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian rescuers.
Earlier this week, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine received nine specialized vehicles from Finnish colleagues.
In addition, Ukraine will organize training for Finnish rescuers who are impressed by the work of their Ukrainian colleagues during the full-scale invasion and wish to adopt the practical experience gained.
“We are grateful to the Government and people of Finland for their continued support and for sheltering more than 64,000 Ukrainian citizens. With the help of such friends, we will certainly overcome our common enemy,” Klymenko said.
Finland continues to actively assist Ukraine with artillery and armored vehicles.
For example, in September, Militarnyi reported that the Finnish Ministry of Defense had handed over 130 K 54 130mm guns to the Ukrainian military.
Guns are designed to destroy ground fortifications, combat enemy artillery, armored vehicles, and mortars, and suppress enemy manpower.
This cannon can cover both individual sections of the front and destroy single enemy targets.
Also, at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Finland is studying the possibility of joint production of armored vehicles with Ukraine.
Consideration of such a proposal could lead to the production of Patria armored personnel carriers in Ukraine.
