Finland does not place any restrictions on Ukraine’s use of the transferred weapons.
The Finnish edition of Yle reported on this with reference to the leadership of the parliamentary committee on defense and the Ministry of Defense.
“As far as I know, Finland has not imposed such restrictions, and Ukraine should have the right to use these weapons against military targets on Russian territory,” Jukka Kopra, chair of the Finnish parliamentary defense committee, told Yle.
This is because Finland, at least officially, did not provide Ukraine with weapons that could be used to strike at Russian territory.
However, at the same time, the country supplied armored vehicles and other weapons that could be used to attack Russian territory.
Mikko Savola, deputy chairman of the Defense Committee, said that Finnish weapons could be used on Russian territory.
The Ministry of Defense of Finland reported that the country had not imposed any restrictions on the use of aid sent to Ukraine.
At the same time, the Finnish Ministry of Defense and the parliamentary defense committee are calling on Germany to provide Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles.
“I urge Germany to seriously consider this issue. The German government knows that they would make a big difference. If they want to get stronger support to help Ukraine win, they can provide it,” said Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.
At the beginning of February, Militarnyi reported that the government of Finland had announced another military aid package to Ukraine, which would be the 22nd since Russia’s first full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The new military aid package is worth approximately €190 million.
The total value of all aid packages delivered from Finland to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion is €1.8 billion.
