Explosions were recorded near the airport of the Indian city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab, likely as a result of a missile attack by the Pakistani military.

Clash Report published a video capturing missiles in the night sky.

The suspected strike took place on the night of May 8. The Indian press, citing local residents, reported a series of loud explosions.

Explosions reportedly occurred, in particular, near the airport located in Amritsar.

Meanwhile, as reported by The Economic Times, the local authorities cut off the power supply as a security measure and urged residents to stay indoors.

It should be noted that the loud explosions heard by local residents may have been the result of Indian air defense systems attempting to shoot down missiles or other aerial objects in the area.

On the night of May 7, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor and carried out strikes on terrorist group camps located in Pakistan.

It was stated that nine “terrorist infrastructure” targets were attacked, all reportedly linked to the Kashmir tragedy. These included, in particular, the headquarters of Islamist militant groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to Indian officials, no Pakistani military facilities were damaged during the missile attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistan officially declared that the strikes were a blatant act of aggression and that the country reserves the right to carry out retaliatory missile attacks.

Earlier, India accused Pakistan of being responsible for the deaths of 26 people and vowed to respond. Pakistan denied involvement in the killings and claimed to have intelligence indicating that India was planning an attack.

Militarnyi reported that both India and Pakistan have raised their troops to combat readiness and are deploying forces to the disputed Kashmir region.
