Explosions sounded at a Russian airfield in the city of Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai.

This was reported by the media and local social media.

Local residents report that on the night of February 28, two hard explosions sounded in the Russian city of Yeysk near the airfield. They also reported seeing a plume of smoke and fire following them.

Residents also posted videos after the explosion.

It is known that on the western edge of the city there is a large airfield. It is jointly used by the Russian 859th Center for Combat Use of Naval Aviation Flight Personnel and the 190th Training Mixed Aviation Regiment.

The airfield is located 150 kilometers away from the combat zone, in the direction of Zaporizhzhia. During the current war, tactical aviation units of the Russian 4th Air Force Army perform combat missions from this airfield. It is also known that the Mariupol bombing was carried out from this airfield.

Currently, the administration of the Yeysk district refutes any information about explosions on the territory of the airfield.

“Dear residents of the Yeysk district, I remind you that military tactical exercises are held on the territory of the Yeysk district, which we wrote about earlier. Keep calm,” wrote Roman Bublik, head of the district, on social media.

On the same day, February 28, at 2 a.m., a fire occurred at an oil depot in the Russian city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory. The fuel infrastructure facility is located 300 kilometers south of Yeysk.

Russian Telegram channels published information that the oil depot was allegedly attacked by unknown drones that fell near the oil storage facility and exploded.

People claiming to have witnessed the incident posted a video on social media, allegedly from the area of the oil depot in Tuapse. The video may indicate the work of Russian air defense on aircraft over the city.

Previously, Militarnyi reported that on October 17, a Su-34 fighter-bomber flew into a residential building at full speed in Yeysk. The aircraft’s engine failed in flight.

The plane flew with ammunition and fell in the courtyard on Communist Street 20/1. Both pilots managed to eject and survive.

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the crash of an aircraft into a residential building. According to the department, the board crashed while climbing to perform a training flight. The cause of the disaster was the fire of one of the engines during takeoff.
