A powerful explosion occurred in the temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region.

A loud sound was heard on Saturday October 21 in all areas of the city.

Local Telegram channels publish photos of smoke rising from the city.

The fact of the explosion was confirmed by the head of the Berdyansk city military administration, Viktoria Halitsina.

“An explosion in Berdyansk. According to city reports, it was loud in all microdistricts. We are waiting for the details and official confirmation from the military,” the message published after the 4 PM said.

Some local residents report that the explosion was recorded near the village of Novopetrivka, located near Berdyansk.

According to other versions posted on social media, an explosion occurred again in the area of the airfield used by the Russian invasion army.

The occupation so-called “authorities” have traditionally refuted the fact of the strike and tentatively claimed it to be the work of air defense.

In turn, local social media channels publish photos showing smoke over one of the areas temporarily occupied by Russians in the city of Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Previous strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on occupiers in Berdyansk

As previously reported, on the night of October 17, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck ATAMCS missiles at the airport in Berdyansk, on which the invaders placed combat helicopters. That night, the airfield in Lugansk was also hit.

This was the first official use of these American tactical ballistic missiles by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A significant number of Russian helicopters were destroyed or damaged. It was reported that the detonation of ammunition in Berdyansk lasted until 4 AM.

Russian propagandists associated with aviation wrote about losses among the personnel of the invaders after the Ukrainian strike on the airfield.
