Photos of the aftermath of the explosion at the Plastmass artillery shell and explosives factory have appeared online.
The images, published by the Telegram channel Supernova+, show that the production facility has been completely destroyed.
Scattered remnants of ammunition and detonators can be seen near the epicenter of the explosion.
As a reminder, the explosion at the plant occurred on the evening of October 22 in Kopeysk, a suburb of Chelyabinsk.
The exact cause of the explosion at the plant is currently unknown, but an air raid alert was declared in the region after the incident.
The plant is located approximately 1,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
There are 12 known fatalities, 10 missing persons, and 7 injured employees. Local chat rooms report that the number of victims may be significantly higher.
According to data from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Plastmass factory specializes in the production, repair, and disposal of ammunition for field, naval, anti-aircraft, and tank artillery.
The enterprise also manufactures 82-mm and 120-mm mortar rounds, 100-mm high-explosive and cumulative shells, 125 mm and 152 mm shells for launchers, tank guns and self-propelled howitzers, as well as unguided S-8 aircraft missiles.
The plant is part of the NPK Tekhmash holding company, which is managed by Technodinamika JSC, a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation.
