In the near future, the government of the Republic of Estonia is going to develop a comprehensive military assistance package for Ukraine.

Hanno Pevkur, Defense Minister of Estonia, announced this, ERR reports.

Pevkur held separate meetings with the defense ministers of Ukraine, Sweden, and Great Britain to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of defense.

“We must not forget that decision to support Ukraine today also strengthen our own security and take away Russia’s power to act unpredictably in our region,” the minister said.

The day before, in Copenhagen, Hanno Pevkur took part in a meeting of 24 countries organized by Denmark and Great Britain with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov to discuss the continuation of military aid to Ukraine.

“Today is a turning point in the war. Military aid aided Ukraine in protecting its country from Russian aggression.

However, to win the war, Ukraine needs our constant support,” Pevkur said.

The Minister of Defense added that “Estonia’s assistance to Ukraine has been significant, but we must not get tired. Therefore I appreciate the initiative of the Allies to come together and find ways in which we can further support Ukraine by increasing the training and the volume of the European arms industry products provided to it “.

Estonia had already provided Ukraine with military aid worth approximately EUR 245 million. It included Javelin anti-tank missile systems, howitzers, anti-tank grenade launchers, mortars, and other equipment.

In cooperation with Germany, Estonia provided Ukraine with a field hospital and medical equipment worth approximately EUR 10 million.

Estonia had also recently handed over two fire trucks and the necessary equipment to the Zhytomyr region. This is an important help for the region, as forest fires occur very often there.

The war in Ukraine made adjustments to Estonia’s military planning. The Ministry of Defense of this Baltic country stated that the defense plans will be reviewed in accordance with the tactics of conducting hostilities by the Russian Federation.
