Estonia, together with Iceland, will hand over a military field hospital to Ukraine.
It will be the fourth one that the Estonian side was involved in providing to Ukraine.
Hanno Pevkur, Minister of Defense of Estonia, announced this on his social media.
According to the reported results of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting in the Ramstein format, which took place on June 15, Ukraine will also receive one Role II plus field hospital from Spain.
Before its delivery to Ukraine, the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will undergo training in Spain on how to operate the hospital.
The Ministry of Defense of Spain reported this.
Emergency operations and basic stabilization measures can be carried out in the hospital, as well as laboratory and pharmaceutical services can be provided. It is placed in 12 containers.
In addition, Margarita Robles, Minister of National Defence, reported that two dozen M113 armored personnel carriers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will arrive from Spain to Poland on June 19.
This batch of armored vehicles will be added to the 40 tracked armored personnel carriers already delivered to Ukraine.
Robles also stated that four repaired Leopard 2A4 tanks will also be handed over to the Ukrainian military.
The field hospital is a key element to help those affected during hostilities. It’s designated to identify, stabilize, and, if necessary, provide surgical intervention to wounded personnel before they are brought to the hospital.
This type of hospital usually includes tents, containers, or, as a rule, both, an outpatient department, several wards, including isolation wards and intensive care units, a surgery room, including presurgery and postsurgery areas, a dental department, a laboratory and radiological departments, and support and administration of the hospital.
